Health-driven, seasonal restaurant and scratch bar will make its Kansas City debut

Country Club Plaza, Kansas City’s premier mixed-use destination featuring best-in-class retail, boutiques and dining, has announced the 2019 opening of True Food Kitchen, an award-winning, health-driven, seasonal restaurant and scratch bar. True Food Kitchen is anticipated to open by early 2019 and will be located on the Plaza at 4749 Pennsylvania Avenue, situated along Ward Parkway next to Hogshead Kansas City and across from Gram & Dun.

Co-founded by integrative medicine expert Dr. Andrew Weil and nine-time James Beard Award nominee for Restaurateur of the Year Sam Fox, True Food Kitchen’s progressive and flavor-forward menu rotates regularly to let guests experience great-tasting ingredients at the peak of their freshness.

True Food Kitchen’s Country Club Plaza menu will feature all of the restaurant’s signature dishes – including a vibrant lineup of healthful entrées, bowls, salads, vegetable starters, pizzas and antioxidant-packed desserts – each one filled with wholesome, seasonal ingredients. The full-service restaurant’s scratch bar also features a seasonal collection of handcrafted cocktails made from freshly pressed juice and organic spirits as well as a selection of local beer and wine.

“Distinctive dining is a key differentiator for the Plaza, and True Food Kitchen’s unique, fresh and flavorful menu and seasonally sourced ingredients will be an excellent addition to our culinary lineup,” said Country Club Plaza General Manager Meredith Keeler. “We are especially excited for the outdoor patio, which will provide a welcomed ambiance to a prominent corner of the district. Our emphasis on bringing the right food, retail and experiences for our customers will continue to set us apart in the region.”

True Food Kitchen’s new Kansas City location on the Plaza will feature nearly 7,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor dining space, including a lively dining room and an open kitchen designed to bring guests closer to the brand’s culinary craft. Indoors, natural woods and vibrant, locally inspired artwork will add a contemporary touch to the restaurant’s natural elements and greenery.

Eco-friendly materials will be utilized throughout, including edible gardening containers to house fresh herbs and spices, as well as dining chairs made of recycled soda bottles.
